I never got the hate for Gwen.

Agreed that scene kicked it in the ass.

I think it got o do a lot with her characterization in the first two seasons (and the problematic way he sometimes treats Rhys). Then again, there were a whole lot of characterization issues in S1&2.

Well she was the over emotional female that had a lovestruck fool standing by her while she made starry eyes at the new shiny mysterious men in her life. When it came down to being useful she failed a lot of the time, running into situations causing more problems unless of course she was just standing in the background wide eyed and flapping her arms going "OMG alien!".

I'm glad they've finally made her useful in Miracle Day.

Personally? She reeked of Mary Sue to me in the first two seasons. (Which were the only two I watched.) And it often felt to me like she was being forced down our throats there; so much of the beginning series had her as the focus, along with Jack and her potential love triangle with him and Rhys, to the point that it started feeling like the "Jack and Gwen show".

I was never rabid about it, but yeah. That's why I wasn't too fond her.
