Thank you anon! I'm totally going to check it out. My Spanish is next to non-existent, but I had a great time watching La Reina Del Sur and I've been hoping to find another telenovela to get into that wasn't your typical sort of story.

Maybe you can find it with English subs! I was watching it with subs in my native language, and now I'm so inspired and begun to learn Spanish at livemocha.com :)) I am very glad that you have written this comment :))

I hope I can find English subs, but if not I'll do what I did for the first 3 weeks of LRDS before I realized that closed caption channel 3 put out english captions, I'll muddle along and use context clues. I'm thrilled that mun2 is streaming it on their website.

Oh My Goodness!! Yes, another person who digs La Reina Del Sur, that shit kicked some serious butt!!

I've yet to read the book and I'm kinda hoping it's better or equally awesome as the telenovela!

I haven't read the book either, I'm sort of worried that it won't turn out as well for the characters and the tv show was already pretty hard on them. :)

I really loved the hell out of the show. I'd dvr it all week and then marathon it on the weekend, it was great. :D I wish they'd put the whole thing out on DVD.

Hah!! That sounds like it was a lot fun! I'm pretty sure that they will sell it on DVD since it was sucha huge success for the network--that and other less than stellar telenovlas have already been released in dvd.

I really hope so re: DVDs and now having watched two episdoes of Las Aparicio streaming (they include English subtitles \o/) I want that on dvd too :D

I totally cried when Paty died on LRDS, and Veronica/Lupe oh god, and Fatima. heh...that one had such an insane body count. :D

That would be great, then I could get my other non-Spanish speaking friends to watch it with me too~!

Oh Man, I wanted to cry when Paty died but my mom was there--so I had to hold my tears lol! Although I think she wanted to cry too! Ikr, it really was really surprising they killed off a lot of people since most telenovelas don't really do that.
