I used to be in the Hetalia fandom and from my experience people were pretty divided on it. There were people who did ask for spin-offs and sequels but a good portion were also fed up with it and disliked the original.

Personally, I never had the guts to check it out. From what I heard the art was very good but everyone was a little OOC. I think as a comic in of itself and a reply to a kink meme request, the your kink is not my kink rule should be applied, but I agree that the legacy it spawned is a little weird.
