You know, I wish the deaths were done all at once instead of one character at a time. After Sheena it became obvious what they were going for.

But I admit it would definitely been interesting to see where the story would go if they had really died, especially Colette(even tough she's my favorite).

I think that would have been interesting, but the whole game definitely focuses on the importance of friendship (in sometimes a beautifully corny way), so I doubt they'd do it? Still, it would have been kind of interesting and shocking.

I'm sorry but I find this secret pretty laughable because they basically broadcasted that they were going to start killing off the characters one by one and each of them had a pretty corny scene as they went. And since TOS' writing over all was very cliche I already assumed they were all going to make it somehow, so no surprises or drama for me whatsoever.

While that would have worked for a thoroughly interesting game, I don't think that ToS would have been the place to do it. Like others have said, it focused on friendship and trust. Having them all die would have been completely out of place. (Also, I don't think I'd have been able to beat the game without Rain. Just sayin'.)

You're right, keep them all dead. That way the Heimdall scene would be one of memory if your top affection had been one of the dead ones. The final battle should be Lloyd, Collete, Kratos (Zelos should always die), and Yuan versus Yggdrasil. I say it would be a far better use of Yuan than his actual ending was (getting lost uselessly in the background), and a far better message to the player if your top affection was one of the dead ones (you have to keep going for the memory of those you lost; that point is even brought up earlier in the game for Anna, Marble, and the city of Luin.)
