I see where the desperate thing is coming from. IMO the desperate = Showing (lots of) skin solely for the purpose of getting male attention.

Well, if she was hot at it, she wouldn't need to have to troll at conventions hitting on guys that probably don't get much female attention.

That's not usually how it goes, though. Very occasionally (as cons are only annually) enjoying male attention from all sides does not in ANY way mean she doesn't get it the rest of the year.

It's just basically the equivalent of a pissing contest is all. There's another secret up there, about someone who writes fic for a shitty fandom just so she'll be best, and that mentality is no different or more natural than this.

People jump to arms so easily here when personal appearances are mentioned =\
