Ok, it wasn't the best x-men movie (Nothing will ever be as good a Xmen 2) but it wasn't bad...

I don't understand what part of the secret are you feeling confused about, I did say Michael Fassbender was one of the good things about the movie along James McAvoy.

I totally agree. I'm shocked that critics rated it as highly as they did.

Besides the parts involving Erik and Charles (and some of Mystique) XM:FC straight-out sucked, IMO.

But the parts that were good were SO good that I still enjoyed it.

Different strokes, I guess. There were definitely some parts that could have been improved, but I think it deserves the praise it gets.

And I think X2, while great, is overrated.

i agree. the erik/charles relationship dynamic was flawless and almost perfectly portrayed by james and fassy. but the rest was just rushed, underdeveloped and poorly executed.

Well, the whole production was rushed (probably so that FOX could have a superhero movie to release), so it's kind of a miracle that it came together as well as it did, even though it's flawed.

This, this, this, all over the place. It had some great moments, but too much of its story and characters were poorly executed for me to consider it in the same league as the first two X-men movies.

I wouldn't say everything other than Fassbender and McAvoy was bad, but I do think that most of the problems with the movie would've been solved if they had called it "X-Men Origins: Magneto".

Yeah, I can agree with that. My biggest complaint was that for a movie called 'First Class,' the first class wasn't that big a thing. I enjoyed the pulling of C-list mutants from the comics, but the fact that they were C-listers meant that they were actually just mimicking the 'standard' first class, rather than being their own characters because the writers didn't know what their characterization was.

And it's a shame, because there were some interesting things that they could have done with them that just didn't happen because the movie was so much Magneto's story. It made me wish that they would have saved Magneto's turn for a sequel story so that this movie could have focused more on the characters it did have.

I totally agree, though I wish they'd made this movie about Magneto and Xavier's origins and meeting each other, then the next one about the beginnings of the X-Men and the first X0Men team. I really wanted to like this one, but it felt like they tried to do way too much in one film, between Erik's backstory, Erik and Charles' relationship, and the formation of the first X-Men team (add to that the endless Cuban Missile Crisis plotting), all of which could have easily been broken up into two movies.

This movie has a lot of problems. It was enjoyable and the main actors were good, but otherwise the movie has too many flaws and problems.

I still don't get why people always go: "I loved it therefore it's the best and it has no flaws." Newsflash people, you can like mediocre and bad stuff too. It doesn't make it any better though.

Really? Even the hardcore stans I've talked to have admitted the movie had flaws. I think what gets me is that it could have been way better. But I think the Erik, Charles, and Raven bits were the only really well developed parts of the movie.

I had a lot of fun watching this one; it almost made up for that abortion that was "Last Stand." I can't say if it's the best of the five critically, but I have enjoyed this one quite well. (And I like your icon.)

Each to their own, I suppose. I flat-out, straight-up loved it and would have its babies if possible, but I know there were bits that weren't perfect or could have been better. Still doesn't do anything to mar my enjoyment of it.

I agree. My friends talked about it in ways that made me think it was the second coming of Dark Knight or something, so when I watched it I was pretty disappointed. I swear, my friends were seriously annoyed by me not liking it too, which kinda makes me dislike it even more.
