I... still don't see how James' immaturity would impact (conscious or otherwise) his liking of Ginny though. If anything, that kind of attitude would have repelled him from Ginny, if she had any of it.

In HP-related posts, I agree. Most of the time, I tend to think the person is agreeing with the previous comment in Russian. D:

Sometimes people are attracted to things - even things they find morally or 'consciously' repellant - unconsciously. I mean, if people could control attraction so much, abuse victims wouldn't repeat the cycle of abuse by being attracted/drawn to people who are abusers. We don't always like or are attracted to people who are the best for us.

That said I don't agree with the theory the above anon is espousing about Ginny, I just think trying to 'logic' out attraction is a silly thing. Harry could very well find himself getting attracted to a woman like his father, with all the immaturity, just because it strikes some sort of emotional chord in him that he didn't know he had, some bit of familiarity.
