This. I read most of the books before getting involved in fandom, and I remember being surprised that some people thought Harry and Hermione would get together (sigh - I was such a fandom newb). To me, R/Hr just seemed to be the obvious end game. Now I understand that people will ship what they ship, but I still don't really get the H/Hr shippers who were shocked, and dismayed, and betrayed by the inevitable OBHWF ending.
