But confidence, athleticism, muscles and toughness (mental or otherwise) are only for boys, Korra is obviously pretending to be a man~~ a good girl, a real girl, is always kind, happy and nurturing~~~~ tomboys are abominations~~~~

Seriously, I have even see people call the avatar girls as "too manly"... except for Yue of course... and she dies.

Maybe I've been hanging in the right/wrong/IDFK circles, but I've...never seen hate like that for the other Avatar chicks. Where are people saying this? O_O

I have seen it on some forums and a couple of comments here and there, I mean, these people even accused Katara of being a "tomboy" because, you know, she fights, gets angry and stuff.

Ask these same people what they think of Toph, because "independent and hot-headed" fits her to a T. In fact, last I checked, one of the reasons this series has such a huge fanbase is because of the strong female characters. Korra fits right in. Not to mention she has a job that's kind of demanding and requires a lot of training, traveling, and probably more than a few fights.
