Depends on where you hang out. The crowd I hang out with most of the time can't stand Elizabeth either. :D I think as long as you ignore the Sheppard/Weir corner of the fandom you're in the clear. :D

See, that's hard, because I'm mostly into SGA and its fandom because of Sheppard (and McKay but that's unrelated).

I'm in the fandom for Sheppard and McKay too. So I mostly hang out with Sheppard/McKay shippers and GEN writers...and most of those I met don't like Weir too much. But I guess it really depends in which corner of the internet you are, haha.

Or it's maybe that those who prefer to avoid Weir fans are just tired of their bashing of other characters (like Teyla and McKay)?

I know I am. Her fans made me hate her.

That goes both ways frankly. I don't hate Teyla, and I know perspectives differ, but personally I've seen far more passionate hatred of Rodney from Teyla fans than I ever have from Weir fans, and let's not even talk about the virtual dancing on Elizabeth's grave when she was written out.
