Man...Leo was one of those kids who I really thought had made it from the awkward teen stage to a "wow, where did THAT come from?!" attractive adult. But then he turned right around and got all rat-looking on us.

In short, I do not share this opinion. Sorry.

Came to say this. I had the biggest crush on him around the time of "William Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet." Now I only like him because of his acting. I don't find his "adult" look attractive at all.

I agree. It's only recently that he's become attractive to me now. Maturity, and looking like a full grown man does wonders.

I don't find him "hot hot" but I agree he's way better looking now. His faced has filled out a bit more and I think it looks better. :)

Hmm. Always liked him. Never got the hate.

is the "Leo is gay" thing I've heard based on just random thoughts that he is or there is something more concrete lurking around that I'm not aware of?

Oh yeah. It's pretty concrete. I mean, there's been no major confession (that I'm aware of) and I'm unaware if he's currently in a relationship. He flirts madly with other (usually gay or bi, often other closeted) actors, has been seen in their company somewhat frequently (enough to inspire talk anyway). Rumors speculate everything from him being a major player to something more of an old maid, but I can't confirm any of this. And nothing will convince me that not only does Kate Winslet know, has known, but has been willing to be his beard for some time now. Apparently a lot of gay/bi/furry actors/actresses do this. They maybe "out" with the people closest to them, but simply prefer to keep their private lives as private as possible. Which can become increasingly difficult once people can claim you as a "poster child" for an entire disenfranchised community. Which kind of sucks, because they're kind of needed, but I totally understand and respect why many celebrities don't accept that sort of attention.

I don't really follow Leo, but now it is starting to make sense why he tends to date models and why he most recently was linked to Blake Lively.

Awhile ago a friend told me that there's usually a certain list of up and coming starlets who are chosen as "beard dates" to either hide a closeted gay star or hide the true identity of a big named star's S/O. Like when Taylor Swift was dating Jake Gyllenhaal.

He's with Lukas Haas, obvs. ;)

I don't think this should be a secret. The only people I ever heard calling young Leo attractive are 12-year-old Titanic fans (or people who used to be 12-year-old Titanic fans and feel nostalgic). I know a bunch of people who only started finding him hot when he grew up, grew a beard and started looking like a man instead of a little boy.

Agreed. Growing up, I never got why all the girls at my school, my sister, and my cousins loved Leo so much. I was all, "Um...what?" But then over the years I just found myself looking forward to seeing Leo in his films more and more. I think it was after "Gangs of New York" did I realize that he's quite sexy.

Yeah, same here! It's nice to see this is a shared opinion.
(It's also nice that I won't have to make this secret myself now.)

I don't find him all that physically attractive now, but I didn't when he was a heart-throb, either, and I like both his voice and his body language a lot more now (dude finally learned to act with more than just his face and hands), so I agree with the spirit of the secret anyway.

I think Leo has gotten more attractive with age. Initially he was really gangly and awkward-looking, and I had a really hard time picturing him in a romantic sense (esp. around his Titanic performance).

He looks so very skeevy now. I wouldn't want to be in a room alone with him.

Eh, I'm the opposite, and I actually find that embarrassing, because I thought he was attractive during the Leo-mania crap, but not now that he's a talented adult actor. I prefer the teen heart-throb version the older version. :/ Oh well.
