Just take it as it is: a compliment on your fanfic. That doesn't mean you have to become egotistical, fanfiction is an alternate retelling of original work anyway. Just be happy that someone enjoyed it. If you really felt that strongly about people wanting to read OOC stories I'm having a hard time believing you'd being able to write fanfic at all.
