Football is not like anime fandoms.
There are always people who are embarassing, and actually, fangirls are not the most embarassing ones.
Of course, I think girlies with pink mini dress, high heels and giant sun glasses just... don't fit into the stadium, for example. Especially if your club's colours aren't pink.
But there are fans who just go into the stadium to see their team win. Football is nothing with a great story, wonderful characterization. Most (club) football fans live with the love for their club.

It's not so much the fangirl-y types (although they are irritating) as the ones who seem to want to make every little thing be about Barca, and seem to enjoy starting controversy. The ones who anytime a Real Madrid fan says even something like "yay we won a friendly!" and posts a picture, will go "Well we beat you 5-0 in el clasico we do everything better!!!!!" I get that they're proud, and they have every right to be, but it's just so obnoxious. Other people can be proud of their club's accomplishments, too.
