Sorry to break your bubble but it's a common stereotype and in most cases it's true. Not as black and white as the person above described it, but close enough.

I'm a female writer and even I think my fic is very "girly". I focus on relationships more than on plot and I think it's a trope that's found more often in short stories written by girls/women. Of course I can't speak for every other female writer, but am I a bad person for thinking so about my own stories? Sometimes you SJ-warriors just pine for reasons to flip out over some unfortunate phrasing...
