Whatever a post going around on tumblr, for example, where people are circle jerking over a pairing by calling other people who don't like that pairing immature names?

What if someone reblogs the tumblr where they explain why they don't like that pairing in a mature fashion? What would that be considered?

Irritating. I don't care if it's mature or just bashing, if you don't like a pairing why reblog something that is positive and supporting of it just to whine, ESPECIALLY if it's a circle jerk? I mean, other than to obviously call attention to yourself and get the shippers pissed off en masse. If you really don't like it and have legit, well-reasoned and mature opinions on it, then you should be mature enough to realize pissing on someone else's bonfire is just unnecessary and asking for tumblr drama. Besides if you feel so strongly about it then make your own post or even PM the OP for a debate. Tumblr is annoying enough as it is without the anti-reblogging.

I'm just saying this as someone who seems to receive these "hater"-reblogs and they're annoying and frustrating. Like, honestly, why fucking bother reblog my post just to complain that you don't like it? Don't worry, in two seconds refresh tumblr and it's gone again. That said, I have no problem having meta/mature discussions about a pairing but NEVER on a photo post. That shit's just annoying for EVERYONE.

In situation A however, if there are a bunch of shippers being immature little brats and calling "haters" all sorts of nasty names, then I think you have a right to call them out on their disrespectful behaviour -- but it likely isn't the right time and place to go further and start a shipwar/fiery debate on the pairing itself cuz you're obviously dealing with people who don't want to have legit arguments anyways.

Honestly? Still douchey. Why do you need to explain why you don't like a pairing? Why not explain why you do like a different pairing? Positive, instead of negative. A hate post, even one written in a 'mature fashion' is still a hate post, and it's not fun for people who do like the pairing to have to see a person ripping something they like apart as if they're wrong for enjoying that pairing. This is why ship wars exist - because when people publically express hate for a different pairing, they're breeding animosity within the fandom, creating a hostile environment.

If you feel you absolutely have to explain to the internet why you hate a pairing other people enjoy, don't reblog that post. If it's full of insults and pettiness and stirring, you don't need to be adding to its notes, even if you don't agree with other rebloggers' attitudes. Write your own post from scratch.
