Some people never really 'outgrow' prescription drugs because...well, they can't. Like BPD people taking anti-psychotics or people who can't make seratonin taking SSRI's, not everyone 'outgrows' their meds. For some of us it's a lifelong issue. Of course, OP's problem is the fear of having to be weaned off of them, which is different - like someone else said, the OP should talk to their doctor, because it could be any number of issues up to and including 'you need to take meds for the rest of your life'.
