Well, better completely absent from the episode than displayed (and undeniable) indifference? At least this way I can pretend he was too busy...doing whatever it is Knockout does in his spare time and was never informed Breakdown was missing. Unfortunately I'm not all that confident that the pair will ultimately be portrayed as friends rather than casual acquaintances who enjoy smashing things together, but I can hope.

Pretty much this. But I really don't have a lot of faith right now that this show can handle good characterization (even if Knockout is awesome.)

Ehh, they just didn't show anything either way. In the newest episode they were fighting together, and they still act like old buds.

I get the feeling that they don't really defend each other too often. Breakdown stood by when Starscream scratched Knockout, and Knock Out didn't do anything when Breakdown was kidnapped. On the other hand, KO didn't make fun of BD's missing eye, something half the decepticons seemed to be doing. You can also infer that he fixed him up after his torture.

So I'm just concluding that they have a decepticonish sort of relationship. They're friends, sure, but that doesn't extend to the same places a human (or Autobot) friendship would.

To be fair, though, Breakdown did seem to cringe in sympathy when that happened...which shows more concern than a lot of Decepticons in other continuities show for one another.

And they probably don't really jump in to defend one another because they'd make both themselves and the one they're defending look weak: The defender for being a complete sap and the defendee for being so pitiful that he needed help. There's also the fact that Megatron's back and it's rather easy to incur his wrath...I don't think anyone would dare back-talk to him.

Watch more Unicron Trilogy. The Cyclonus/Snowcat and Demolishor relationship is pretty bromantic, same for Ransack and Crumplezone in Cybertron. Ransack even sobs when he thinks Crumplezone's died.

Man, I get that you're trying to help them here, but... Asking the OP to slog through 155 episodes of a series with mediocre-to-poor writing just to see a few scenes of Decepticons broing it up is a little too much to ask.

You have a point, although Ransack and Crumplezone never struck me as ~true~ Decepticons - they were comic relief and therefore more friendly.

I share OPs wish to see some bad-ass Decepticons being good friends, preferably in a series I actually like (I pretty much SUFFERED through the Unicron trilogy).
