It's taken me a long time, but I've come to appreciate my scars as badges of "I went through this awful shit but I came out alive and I got a souvenir." I hope someone sees them the same way someday, too.

I do, or at least, I appreciate things that make people unique and I find scars fascinating and interesting, something that are a part of someone and make me interested to know more about a person. Plus, I find really attractive all the ways in which people are different from one another, so scars tend to be damn interesting and sexy to me.

Just to say, some of us think scars are pretty awesome, even hot, or badges of honour. Don't feel bad about yours, because I'm sure there's someone out there who actually likes them.

Drive-by picture love. Not a shipper of any sort, really, but AtLA is awesome, and the art there is kinda gorgeous. :)

(Sidenote: I think scars are awesome - they give people character and history. I'm sure you'll find someone who loves yours. :3 )

off-topic: hnnnng dat pic

on-topic: I find scars really interesting, even if they're from mundane or uncomfortable things. They're unique, y'know? I used to have a bunch on my arms from SI, and yeah, people tried to make me feel guilty over it, but fuck, I went through shit they never did, and they're my battle scars. Maybe it's not as interesting as "got in a fist fight with a bear" or anything, but it's what I've got to show for the shit people try to ignore.

tangentially related: if you like characters with canon scars, D.Gray-Man has several. (Allen and Tyki end up with some pretty massive ones.) They don't usually get ignored in fanon, either :3

A person in RL I didn't particularly like (and in fact thought of as rather annoying )got caught in a housefire and suffered some pretty awful burns on her back and arms before she got out and the firemen/EMTs showed up. She was in the hospital for over a month recovering. She has both fairly obvious physical scars and a significantly changed attitude towards life and her community, and when I notice her scars now, honestly, the thing I think most about is how I respect her more now. Oh, and how both her husband and her boyfriend stuck with her through the whole ordeal.
