She is a kid with a harmless crush on him... Why would she have to turn her down from the beginning? Yukito is a very friendly person and he loves Sakura, just not romantically. He's allowed to show affection. It's obvious Sakura is hopeful from her end but realistically it was never going to go anywhere and she would have grown out of it or maybe realized it was not 'going to work'.

To each their own but it doesn't really make sense (?). By that reasoning Sakura is also an asshole for "leading Tomoyo on".
