Sorry, the comparing communities is what made me think that you wish more people had the insight to enjoy the things you do instead of all that stupid slash stuff. I might have misinterpreted you.

I get that it's frustrating when people just seem to flat-out ignore canon. I just don't think it's going to help to call people stupid just because they enjoy a cute looking ship. Even if the reasons are shallow, they're just enjoying themselves? It sounds like the only crime they've committed is not paying more attention to your ship, which is superior because of canon?

I was doing that for perspective on it, which I suppose failed in light of the fact that I can't really explain how small the fandom is, and who the people in slash community are.

It's not that my OTP is superior in any way, it's that the slash involved really is purely for the sake of 'omg guyz 2gether iz so kawaii ^___^'. It's not just my ship getting thrown out the window with the canon, there are several other romantic pairings with women being dismissed because it's not slash.

Sigh, the secret aspect of this makes it so hard to explain.

Yeah, I can see how that would be irritating. No matter how into slash/yuri I get, for some reason I always seem to latch onto het and canon couples the most. I guess my fandoms have always been big enough that there's always been a decent amount of het fans, even if the slash is almost always overwhelming compared to it.

I'm trying to understand, so I'm sorry if I jumped the gun with assumptions at first. I realize how bitchy I sounded looking back up. :{ The first secret might have soured me a little too much, lol.

And personally, I don't really understand getting into a fandom if you don't care for the canon at all. I don't understand it, but I try to let people have their fun. I can see how it can get a little lonely and frustrating, though, when the fandom is so small and the majority of people don't seem to care about canon at all.

Unfortunately the way you worded your secret leaves a lot to be desired =\

I dunno if I'm misinterpreting you or not, but you mentioned characters being "clearly attracted to WOMEN". If they're not shown being repulsed by men, then wtf you can't say they're completely straight as a matter of intepretation.

I mean, I agree somewhat with what seems to be your overall statement, but seriously. Tact.
