(Anonymous) 2011-08-13 02:42 am (UTC)(link)It is complicated and sprawling, and I think that you really have to be into the series to "get" it all. But mostly because as you said, there's just so much to keep track of!
It's really to glaze over at some points or just totally miss certain stuff when you're being bombarded by details, or skimming through parts you don't particularly like.
The beginning also throws a lot of people off, imo.
