...People being terrible and verbally abusive isn't any better or less harmful because it happens on the internet.

The internet isn't 'just the internet,' it's another way to communicate in real life. It's part of the real world. People absolutely can be driven to depression and suicide through verbal torment, and seeing the words on an electronic screen doesn't change that.

OP here.

I'll admit I'm a little oversensitive, but that doesn't mean I'm not getting sufficient help or medication (fuck, I take five different medications every fucking day to keep me on an even keel, and I see a therapist weekly). First Anon, you are, quite frankly, a total douche.

But thank you, Second Anon. You are absolutely right, and thank you for standing up for someone you don't even know anything about.

For the record, these people were saying I was (among other things) a stupid slut who deserved to be cyberstalked and sexually harassed (the fact that I have a really creepy cyberstalker was what sparked all this). The fact of the matter is that no one deserves to go through the shit I went through, and, really, continue to go through.
