Meg has friends (unlike Chris) they hang out from time to time, you see them at her house, at school, she isn't "popular," but she isn't all alone. The main bully on the show is Peter (and to a lesser extent Lois) who make her feel like crap. Honestly, how they treat Meg makes me furious every time.

Anyway OP, freshman year sucks for everyone. Even if you're in the "in-crowd", you're living in fear that you'll do something and find yourself "out." Find people you like, hunker down and wait 'til college. High School friends/boyfriends are passing and being "popular" doesn't mean much if you don't actually -like- who you hang out with.
