Don't ever feel like you don't have the right to a place in the Harry Potter fandom because of something like that. Tastes change, and what matters is that NOW, you like Harry Potter, and that is all that matters. I'd take one fun, passionate, nice Harry Potter fan that came into the fandom somewhat later in life than a million wanky, bitter fans that have been reading it since they were in diapers. I started reading Harry Potter when I was six, in 2001. I grew up with it and will grow old with it, and if Pottermore gives someone who wasn't able to grow up with it a chance to "be there from the beginning", I think that's awesome. I assure you, no one will really care if you got one of the early accounts fair and square, and if they do, they're probably of the obsessive and bitchy fan-variety, and they can get over it.
