omg thisssss. i actually got worried about mid-way through the movie because i thought it was hinting that Karen would end up with Peter. i'm so, so glad the movie didn't go down that route.

even when i was little and didn't really understand romance, it made no sense to me that she would choose Peter; the monkey-tickling weirdo who kept belittling her intelligence, over Munro; the charming, suave badass who was constantly wow-ed by her ability to keep one step ahead of him. she and Munro played off each other so well. and well, he was just so charming!



don't worry, op. i love this movie too. it's one of my favorite adventure movies from the 90s. screw the haters.

I cannot watch this movie because some time ago, I got ahold of some of my Dad's old science fiction magazines, and there was this one about a guy who got romantically involved with a gorilla in a zoo, and... I just can't watch the movie without seeing that.

Congo! Yay, this movie was so fun!

Yep, there was a definite spark between the two of them, an intellectual attraction and sympathy. A lot of verbal wit and chemistry came from just their dialogue together.
