i love this show!! i would be heartbroken as well. :(

An "Alphas" secret!! ^___^ I wondered when they were going to appear. I'm enjoying the series so much. David Strathairn is awesome, I love Gary and all the characters are pretty interesting. Plus, I love the fact that maybe they're doing a mistake and they're not in the right side. I think the show has a lot of potential. Let's cross our fingers.

I love Alphas! I hope that it does get a second season. I have to make sure I write Syfy though, because where I'm living doesn't have TV. :\

I hated the pilot but have loved every episode since. It really does suffer from ~awful pilot syndrome~

It really picks up after the pilot in a really subtle way and gets better and better. They're treating it as an ensemble show and giving real depth to all the characters. I love it.

I watched the first three episodes and wondered how anyone could manage to make a show about superpowers so boring.

Gotta be honest, if SyFy keeps Alphas around after cut Eureka short, I will be so pissed.

Alphas is so dull. I recorded the episodes to watch later, watched the pilot, and haven't cared enough to watch any further.

With you. I've watched a few episodes of Alphas but I only like Gary, so I don't think I'll stick with it. Meanwhile Eureka is one of my favorite shows and they're ending it. SyFy = Heartbreak

Oh for sure! Gary is the only reason I even want to give Alphas another shot, but I don't think he'l be enough for me to stay.

oh, it'll probably get a second season. and then 1 day before season 2 finishes shooting their massive cliffhanger of a season ender, it'll get canceled

THIS. A series should never be cancelled after only one season. The show could go anywhere with such a good concept. I would rage soooooo hard, you have no idea lol

Haven't watched it, looked interesting, checked out the wiki...

So... the womens' powers are heightened observation and mental/emotional manipulation, and the mens' powers are bullet time and superstrength.

Sigh.

It's basically as bad with that as you'd think, too, at least in the pilot (I stopped watching after that-- ugh). The woman who can manipulate emotions is portrayed just like, well, every other "seductress" type woman ever on television, and... well, the woman who can strengthen one of her senses does so at the cost of obliterating every other sense and is nearly caught in the frigging pilot, because portraying a woman as observant, intelligent, and competent is apparently way too hard for them.

Meanwhile, yeah, the guys are shown as competent and useful while the girls... well, one does nothing and the other is a damsel in distress. Oh, I was overjoyed, let me tell you. */bitter*

Gary's a man and he has a "mental" power. Unless you're saying that autistic boys are women, your description isn't accurate.

Yeah, that part bothers the hell out of me as well. The show has some decent moments but wtf @ the powers for the girls.

I hadn't even really paid attention to that until you pointed it out. I'm not sure if I like Alphas so much now . . .

Anyone else feel like this is filmed differently than most TV shows?

I don't know what it is, but for some reason it's like a cross between... I don't know, someone with a handheld camera and a soap opera.

I don't mean the plot and all, I mean the actual FILMING.

Anyone else notice it?

I really enjoy this show, although the pilot seemed monotonous and like it dragged on for far too long.
