It's funny - I've got just the opposite problem. I can't write fic for written media because the stuff I like to write about - thoughts, interior monologues, things like that - are already all there. I don't have anything to fill in.

Yeah, me too. Or if I'm writing fic for written media, it's about a semi-peripheral character whose pov we never enter.

Good point. Now that I think about it, that's probably largely why I've never gotten as involved in book fandoms as a rule. I think, other than Harry Potter, the only book fandoms I've gotten into are the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books, and those series have like, almost no character development.

Right! Changing medium is interesting, isn't it? Trying to fit words to what was visual or interactive or what have you. It's one of the things I like most about writing fanfic.
That, and finding exact references in a book is a pain... unless your fandom has a Lexicon or something :( (or is a tiny book)
