Tbh, I think the main problem with movie Buckbeak is the fact that movies haven't really progressed far enough to make CGI not look too fluid and...off.

Actually, the cover I have looks a *lot* like movie Buckbeak actually, so maybe it just depends on the cover? /shrugs I like most of the versions I've seen either, tbh.

Man, I always hated how the front legs of the movie!hippogryph bend like the ones of a horse even though they were the ones of an eagle. It just looked impossible and odd.

It wouldn't be able to walk if they bent the other way. Functionally possible anatomy has to come into play at some point. It'd look even weirder if Buckbeak had legs that bent opposite ways.

I always thought it was a perfect representation. Though, to be fair, the American cover looks a lot more like the movie Buckbeak than the British cover does.

Aside from how this cover's all jovial and cartoony, with wtf-wing-arms and a SMILE like it's going to take you on a fluffy ride to the Gumdrop Forest with accompanying Disney musical number... and the hipogriff in the movie was more apt to bite your fucking face off? :D

The only thing I can see being different from the movie version and the book version are the front legs. They didn't bend right for bird legs. Other than that, they look the same. Mostly.
