I don't think she's ugly. But she always looks annoyed, it makes her look arrogant.

She's pretty. A lot of people think she's stuck-up or boring (I don't know why though...?) or they just hate Twilight and they let it affect the way they see her. I can think someone's hot initially, but I immediately start seeing them as unattractive if they turn out to be a huge douchebag.

I've been told by numerous people that I look like Chloë Sevigny, who was known for years as "that actress that went down on Vincent Gallo in The Brown Bunny". I've discovered that, when people compare you to a celebrity, they almost always mean it as a compliment. So some people don't find her attractive- millions of people do. Take the good with the bad, and try not to personalize statements made about someone else's looks, just because you resemble them.

Well, I'm pretty sure that half of the people who say she's ugly are prejudiced against Twilight and her role as Bella, and just bash her looks for fun.

I would personally think someone who looks something like her is probably very attractive, especially since Kristen can come off pretty wooden and it wouldn't be hard to have a bit more charm than she does so maybe you're actually much more hot :) ?
I'm sure fuckloads of people think she's pretty, but I understand that when you get compared to somebody, it's like trying to remember compliments you've received better than the insults :/

I don't think she's ugly so much as she has a really annoying face. Does she have MG? I can't think of any other explanation for the expression (or lack thereof).

Recently they've been showing an ad for the Channel 4 showing of Twilight. Every single scene, she has the same facial expression - slightly bored, even if she's being chased by werewolves, about to kiss her sparkly boyfriend, or whatever. Why?

I think when she smiles, truly smiles, she's rather gorgeous, but she just looks so pissed off/irritated/annoyed all the time that I start to dislike her and her arrogant face.

It....could be worse? Actually, I don't know if this is worse or not, but a lot of people have told me I look like Emmy Rossum/"that girl in Phantom of the Opera," which was nice at first, but then I scrolled through a large number of pictures of Ms. Rossum is bikinis, and immediately started to feel vastly inferior. But I think that has a lot more to do with my own insecurities than anything else. :P

Beauty is about more than aesthetic. It's also a game of association. You know the thing where people call 60+ year old Alan Rickman gorgeous or proclaim their sexual attraction to Weirdface Benedict Cumberbatch? It's not solely because of their physical features but because they are good actors, lovely people, portrayed people that have attractive personalities.

Stewart's bad image (sullen, arrogant, awkward, overhyped, terrible actress) causes her to be kind of the anti-Rickman to a lot of people. She is aesthetically extremely pleasing but she stands for so many things people despise that she becomes unattractive. Not ugly. Unattractive.
