(Anonymous) 2011-08-20 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)I'm guilty of being a True Blood fan, and a Buffy fan back in the day, so I'm no stranger to enjoying media that involves ~vampire romance~ but the problem is that vampire romance is basically the only thing that's happening right now. And tortured vampires that just want to be good but they have so much bloodlust and everything is so hard.
That kind of shit was interesting when not everyone was doing it ALL THE TIME, but I'd like to see more vicious, unrepentant vampires in media again. Or feral, barely-human vampires.

I'm getting so bored with tortured and angsty romances between the mortal and immortal. Why is that always the story now? How about actually having a vampire as the main POV character, or exploring relationships between vampires, whether romantic or not? Sometimes the maker-progeny relationships in True Blood are what I wish most of the show was about.
