They're trying to make their daughter stop taking life-saving epilepsy meds? From your wording, I take it the daughter is no longer a child, but if she were...that would totally be child abuse in my opinion. How awful. ): You'd think the mom, with her memories of epilepsy, would be more sympathetic!

She's no longer a child, but remains financially dependent out of necessity. But yeah, as non-judgmental as I try to be, her parents are dicks, and there are endless stories of said dickery. I do my best to be there for her and be as good of a life coach as I can when she needs me; she needs the self-esteem boost. I can relate to a lesser extent, with a critical, old-fashioned dad, but at least he can be reasoned with at times and we get along better now that I can deal with him confidently. We're very similar people, my friend and I, but she's going through a far, far rougher time than I am, so I'm glad I can be one of her bffs at least. She's a wonderful person.
