Yeah pretty much this, though maybe OP means more of an arrogant douche?

He was more of a self-loathing beastly douche when they met, as opposed to a self-obsessed bratty douche.

Plus his turn-around started one day in, so it's not like she knew him as nothing but a douche for long.

...You mean when they were both kids? Because he got turned into a beast as a kid (meaning that the portrait he destroys of himself as an adult doesn't make sense, but...)

If the sequel is anything to go by, he was in his late teens/early 20s when he got turned into the Beast. Though he always looked like an adult in the painted-glass at the beginning of the first movie IMO.

The Cinderella 3 hate is unnecessary. I thought it was one of the few good Disney sequels.

The mice sing and they gave the prince a personality. :D I thought it was the best out of the Disney sequels.

I've never seen Cinderella 3...but now I kind of want to.
