if all people have is MS Paint they need to learn not to touch colors and just use black/white.

(Although the most recent version of MS Paint is actually pretty decent, I gotta say.)

Well, it can still work if they use high-contrast colours and an outline. It's just that they don't.

WHY U NO TEACH COLOUR WHEELS IN SCHOOL?!

Here, everyone: Free tip. This is a colour wheel (http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/floriculture/container-garden/lesson/colorwheel.jpg). You can buy them at any art supply shop but here's a free online one for you.

The colours on the opposite sides of the wheels are the highest contrast. So:

1) Figure out what the predominate colour of your pic is (or at least the part where the writing will go). Lean back and squint if you need to.

2) Find that colour on the colour wheel (or as close as you can get).

3) Make your fonts a colour from the DIRECT OPPOSITE side of the wheel. Bam! Instant contrast. For bonus clarity, put an outline around them or a shadow in a darker colour behind them.

4) if that fails, just block out an area in black and put bolded white writing over it.

See, this is why student art classes matter... *shakes head sadly*
