I still remember Stargate Atlantis spiking people's good with the Wraith 'enzyme' and how all I could think is Do they know enzymes are proteins and not poison? Like snake venom, eating it is stupid but not that effective unless you have some kind of stomach ulcer. Or how the X-Men use gene, chromosome, and genome more or less interchangeably. Or that one mars movie where a guy demonstrates the DNA for his ideal woman with a single bag of m&m's, which didn't even equal 2 codons (among SO MANY other things). Or how totally different species can easily interbreed whenever there are sexy aliens around.
Yeah, I'm a nerd, usually I can turn my brain off for enjoyable media but fandom people don't give me fun shows so I give them less leeway.

Just... the effort! Why? That's not how cloning works. And how could they find someone heterozygous in enough traits to make a noticeable difference? And WHAT? No part of that sentence makes any sense!
