Really? I find him a very sexual character and incredibly romantic, though traditional and restrained. His chemistry with Dr. Crusher is, imho, red-hot. So. Much. Tension. But he definitely places his mission and his position as captain over any sexual feelings he may possess.

I haven't done any serious watching of the series in a long time, because I'm finding that a lot of the themes really piss me off, but from what I can recall of Picard and Crusher, wasn't it mostly her pursuing him? And him being very standoffish, "Beverly, I enjoy your friendship and that's all"?

Well, he was good friends with Beverly's deceased husband, so I think a lot of that is him not wanting to take advantage of her lonliness or appear as if he's moving in on the still-grieving widow. There was an episode, though, where they became mentally linked and discover that they both have romantic feelings towards each other, but even with that knowledge they still can't bring themselves to progress the relationship any further. Through the whole series they do this back and forth dance, kind of like Mulder and Scully.

Really? Good God, I had the biggest crush on him when I was twelve. And Deanna was there to make me realize I really liked girls, too. Oh, TNG, so glad you were there during puberty.

This is why in Death Note I'm so fond of Light's silly faces, and in Code Geass I was so amused by Lelouch's high-pitched squealing. It's fun to see traits in characters that would or at least could translate to cute or amusing or sexy things in bed.
