You know, the thought just occurred to me that it would be neat if you actually could be a Squib in Pottermore. You'd get a completely different perspective on the wizarding world and then have to find a way to carve out a niche for yourself in a world where you don't necessarily belong. I don't know how that would work in the context of the game/site/whatever it is, but still.

I feel much better now. :) But yeah. I'd also actually be interested on a Muggle perspective on the stories...

Well, it wouldn't even have to necessarily be a muggle perspective (though that would be cool, considering how many muggle-born and half-blood witches and wizaards there seemed to be in the series). I think a short story from the perspective of a muggle parent would be pretty neat. But a squib would have an entirely different perspective from everyone else.

He or she would not fit into the wizarding world because magic is such a necessity there and so naturally one would think that they'd head off to live as a muggle. But since knowledge about the muggle world doesn't seem to be much of a priority, a squib would likely know next to nothing about the non-magical world and be unprepared even if they did (proof of schooling, anyone?), which would leave them in a bind. They can't function in the magical world because they have no magic, but they can't function in the non-magical world because they're not properly prepared for that sort of setting. The more I think about this, the more I think I understand why Filch was such a bastard.

But back on topic, I hope you get your Pottermore email soon. I hate to be left in limbo like that, and from the sound of it, that's what waiting for that email is like.
