I like knowing a little. Just because I don't want people to think I support hateful/wrong beliefs or actions. "Oh, Person X is awesome! I love their stuff!" "... you DO know they were just arrested for being naked in bed with a dozen naked 6 year olds, right?" "Uuuuuuh......"

I was actually thinking about an above conversation where the tutorial-maker defended a homophobic bigot. Or a sci-fi writer I refuse to support with my money because he thinks homosexuals should be jailed because homosexuality = sin, sin = crime, and criminals go to jail.

I understand that. I figure if one of my favorite authors/etc. has some behavior or scandal that is egregious enough to warrant reconsidering appreciating their work, I will hear about it whether I want to or not. I simply try not to find out anything about them on my own, because to be perfectly honest, I'm a pretty judgmental person. Everyone has their faults. Whether it's an affair, homophobic beliefs (or in this case, defending homophobes apparently), or even a childishly dramatic personality, to be honest I'd just rather not know.
