Yes, that's actually quite sad. But I think there is at least some movement there. At least there are some Japanese idols who said that they like kpop, and since they do have some kind of rolemodel function...

About the comment that Japanese people hate foreigners: I think there is something true in this, at least in the Japanese society they are unsure about people who are not from Japan. Some may be really racist, others are afraid of them.

But I think that's also a generation thing. Young people seem to be a bit more tolerant than older people. So yes, I do have some hope.
