From my understanding this is a very small group of people. Someone got fired from their job because they made racist/anti-Korean statements on their twitter (a celebrity). For the most part, Korean culture is being welcomed with open arms, especially given the sales of groups like SNSD and KARA. Hell, TVXQ is performing the last performance at A-Nation, which is huge.
Attitudes are changing, and I do think that the Hallyu wave is a part of that. There will be some racists and some people who are close-minded, but those protesters are not the average person.
