Meanwhile Abel has daddy issues and furthermore volunteered to go on a deathly mission into enemy territory - at this point he hasn't told Cain yet - how will Cain react? Since Cain likes the thrill of battle perhaps his and Abel's bond with be strengthened once they get back into flight. Also, the Navigator commander seemed keen - far too keen - knowing that Abel had chosen to go to the front lines. There's also two other characters who are vying for the leads' attentions, one of which can't talk properly and is socially awkward and the other whose life had been saved by Abel, so he feel indepted and perhaps a little bit in love.
