I can't explain it. I love Rock Bison so far, and I'm only on episode 14. :) He just seems like a very solid, loyal and down-to-earth sort of sweetie.

I think a lot of the love stems from all the reasons you listed. He's a loser with a lame costume and a lame power and no friends, and it makes people feel bad and want things to get better for him. I myself don't even particularly like him, yet somehow ended up writing an Antonio-centric short fic anyway...

well, and he WAS kind of cool in the first drama CD.

It seems irrational to hate a character for being boring when the reason they're boring is that the writers haven't fleshed them out enough. It's like hating a redshirt or background character.

I mean, I don't get how there's so much love for Origami Cyclone when he's just kind of...there. But I don't dislike him by any means. This just sounds like backlash against fandom's way of making so much of barely-developed supporting characters.

I like him because he seems like a sweet guy, and his Gurren-Lagann-with-a-leather-thong costume amuses me xD I'm really hoping that if there is a second season, he'll get a focus episode, because I want to love him like I do the rest of the heroes, rather than just like.

That's pretty much the whole thing about him, even voice actor interviews say he's pretty boring with the lamest power and the weakest (Episode 24 shows that too. But he doesn't give in though). Hahaha.

He's the "kick the dog" character and fandoms tend to feel sorry for the guy.

I think he's a swell fellow though.

I don't dislike him - I don't think I could dislike anyone in the show, even Maverick is entertaining in his own way - but he's definitely the least interesting character to me. Maybe it's because of lack of screen time, but I have a feeling a Bison episode would be about Antonio's boring life of being forgotten by everyone, then drinking alone at the bar.

I have to agree with the anon above me. Listing 'ugliest Hero' is a bit low for whether or not you like a character.

Yes, I see him as the 'getting kicked around for laughs' character, but, again, there hasn't been an episode for him, so he hasn't had time to flesh out. There also hasn't been an episode for just Fire Emblem, either. I'm looking forward to learning more about all of the characters.

Him and Kotetsu are best friends -- they were punks together in High School, and the fact that they both became Heroes and tease each other is amusing to sit back and watch. He's subtle, but he has his strong points, especially in the latest episode, his moments of thinking about what Kotetsu said to him really shows the struggle and wish to help his friend.

I really think people just give him hate for being that 'kicked around' character. I think there will be more for him.
