I don't think you are forced to ship them in order to participate in the fandom, tbh. Yes, they're the main focus at the moment, but you can find gen fic just as easily.

It's a friendship that shaped comics for decades, so yeah. Shippers gonna ship.

lol They've been the main focus for a long long loooooong time. I don't think that'll change.

That being said, there are other comms and other places and other fics and... well, Steve/Tony may be the big ship, but there's plenty of room to play with everyone else! :)

Yeah, I think there was something out around the time IM 2 came out... something along the lines of Phil Coulson: Agent of SHIELD.

He's just too awesome not to be in every Marvel movie from this point forward! :D
