Oh my god, Yoshi Story? I love this game! I was so upset when my cats ruined the cartridge for it a while back, but my brother went out and got a new one last year, and oh my god, this game! ♥♥♥

But I'll admit that I'm a bit confused about the secret. I'd never heard any hate for this game. In fact, I'd never heard anyone mention it at all before now. Is there something I missed?

That's sad. I've always thought it was adorable and sweet. I can't speak much for the easy bit, though. I've never been much of a gamer.

I think it's one of those games that can be easy to beat but really hard and tedious to do really well. All those goddamn melons and whatnot. D:

I haven't seen much hate for it myself, but I guess there's a reason why it's on the "It's Easy So It Sucks" trope page...

Funny enough, when I replayed it recently I had a lot of trouble with it.

I admit that I haven't played it in a while (I tend to watch my brother play most of the time as all of the gaming systems in the house are his) but I don't remember this being particularly easy or difficult. But, as I mentioned to cybersky, I've never been much of a gamer, so my opinion on what is or isn't difficult in a game is probably irrelevant.

Many gamers consider Yoshi's Story the first sign that Nintendo was starting to aim their main games towards kids. (e.g. the easiness, the cutesy story and characters, etc)

People haven't been happy with Nintendo's child-oriented games ever since.
