It's not a novelization, it's the book series the TV show was based on. They were originally published in the 90s, I think.

You know, it never crossed my mind that it was a book series first, though honestly, that makes more sense than a box set of novelizations. All I knew about this series was that it had vampires in it and that I have a bag from Comic-con for it that I still need to sell.

The show is way better than the books, and probably more well-known at this point, so it's an easy mistake to make:)

Okay, good to know. I've never been interested in vampire anything, but I do find it intriguing that the books are seen as worse than the show in this case (or that seems to be the general consensus when looking at this thread). Usually it's the other way around.

I'd actually completely disagree. I can't watch the series because it makes me cringe but I love the books.
