Also, on the subject of adventures, go parasailing. Not as dangerous as whitewater rafting but you can't beat the views.

also, many years ago I jumped off a rock on a whitewater rafting trip and it was utterly terrifying.

Yay, OP! That is pretty impressively awesome right there; I could never jump to save my life.
