OMG I remember that kind of webs XDD And I love to see a Remington Steele picture, that was an awesome series.

But, yeah, OP, the quality of the fic is the most important thing here.

lol! Okay, you totally made me laugh, OP. I'll occasionally wander across a site like that too, and it's like "What the... did I suddenly travel a decade back in time??"

There are so many premade website places now, where you can basically slap something up that looks fantastic, you almost have to put more effort into making it look like those old geocities sites!

I'll give the webmasters a *little* bit of credit in that most of those websites have been up since the days of geocities.

The Steele one, at least, has been up since <2001. The KnightRider one I believe dates from roughly the same era, as does the SMK one. Most of the sites existed from the days when the "internet" was still referred to as the "world wide web" and streaming music on your site meant embedding a midi.

...it's just terrible when you come across a fic site that still says "best viewed in Netscape Navigator 6.0"
