are you going to answer this jw

The "-sexual" in hetero/homo/bi/pan/a-sexual refers to the gender one is attracted to. It has nothing to do with having or not having sex.

What gender does "demi" imply?

"demi" is meant to imply that it's a midway point between sexual and asexual. It could have a better name, sure, but it's the one that exists for now, so it's the one I'm going to use when talking about it. When it get's a different name with a large enough following of people who use it, and thus a larger number of people who understand it, I'll switch to that. But for now, this is what there is.

What gender does "omni" imply?

"All". The same as "pan" does.

Then why two different words?

DA

Omni- is from Latin.
Pan- is from Greek.

They mean the exact same thing. It's just that the language around sexuality is new enough that it hasn't been codified into language as to which to use. AFAIK English tends toward the use of omni- as a prefix more, so probably the eventual word will be omnisexual, and the use of the term pansexual will make about as much sense as saying panscient (as opposed to omniscient).

Huh. And here I thought that "pan-" referred to humans, and "omni-" referred to everything. As in, "I find humans AND narns AND klingons AND centaurs etc etc attractive so I am omni." Or, like, a geek, I guess. ;-)
