I almost made this exact secret.

Seriously, 15 years in fandom. I never thought I'd find myself saying "damn, that mpreg story I just read on fanfiction.net was amazing!"

I'm just endlessly amused by the idea of Jane and Darcy going through books of Norse mythology post-movie and finding stories like Loki giving birth to Sleipnir, Fenris, Hela, etc. and the one where he convinces Thor to dress in women's clothing and marry the king of the giants.

If I were Jane, I would seriously re-evaluate getting involved in that family.

every time i wind up reading an mpreg story and it's actually decent i never know what to do with myself afterwards. all the foundations of my life crumbling down and so on.

MTE. Never thought I'd ever find myself reading mpreg. It's a small fandom miracle.

I know right? This whole fandom. I love it.

I have always avoided it like the plague, but a writer I really like posted some Loki/Darcy mpreg & I was going to avoid that too, but then I thought: but this is canon. Loki can ACTUALLY get pregnant. So I gave it a shot & really enjoyed it. So yeah, I get you. :P

Hey, not only is it canon in the source material for the source material, it's furry mpreg!

Also, imagining Loki walking into Odin's throne room, setting down the eight-legged foal, saying "Don't say I never did anything for you, and let us never speak of this again," and walking back out with the last few shreds of his dignity intact is really awesome with these actors.

Soooo since no one has mentioned it, "hermaphrodite" is a ridiculously offensive term when applied to humans (and gods I would suppose). Obviously I guess a god could have two full sets of functioning genitalia (which is the definition of hermaphrodite), but I would be wary about using that term regardless. It has a lot of negative connotation to the intersex community.

I don't get the *appeal* exactly but it does freak me out significantly less for this fandom. There really is a lot of good writing around that is making me read all sorts of things, plus the whole fact that nothing is really that weird for the Loki of the myths so you can get away with a lot in fic.

I'd read it :D
