How can you believe in a religion which was essentially founded for the Vikings to know that they would get to fight som more if they died fighting? Central tenants include that there is no way to get a good afterlife if you don't want to fight for the rest of your life (err, death).

And OP, I can't get over how annoyingly hipster you sound, suddenly using Icelandic script and names. If you are Icelandic, fine, but there are still acceptable translated names for the gods. To you call Cairo "al-Qāhira"? Or even "القاهرة"? And if you aren't, Iceland is just one of the places where Asatru was big in its day. My own Sweden calls them "Tor", "Oden" and "Loke". Why choose Icelandic script which most are unfamilier with? It's not more or less correct.

I use Icelandic script because I'm Icelandic. It's just what I feel natural using. There was a fail there, I know, but I occasionally get lost mixing Icelandic and English.

In spirit I agree with you dude/tte. I've never been able to read Thor even though I am fine with this sort of thing in theory. The blatant and conscious inaccuracies, sure, but the things that they simply didn't bother to check just... bleh.

Dude, you think they'd care? I'm Norwegian and raised Åsatru and I still practice and believe in it. I can't think for one second that they would be terribly offended by this movie. I mean, yeah, i won't ever write fanfiction and shit like that for this because that would feel incredibly gross for me and I haven't watched the movie for similar reasons... but it's not blaphemous to someone who doesn't worship these gods. Besides a lot of us, myself included, believe that gods are attached to a certain place and people meaning that the Norse Gods won't be everyone's gods.
