Tbh, that fandom has been the most anti-fanworks fandom I've ever poked my nose in. All anyone seemed to be interested in was celebrity gossip and screen caps. There were a few specific pairing communities, but it mainly seemed to be canon pairings, and even for the canon pairings there wasn't much and what was there wasn't very good.

Considering how much raw material the canon supplies: vampires, weres, fairies, magic, religious cults, plausible everyone x everyone. I mean most fandoms have to go AU to get all this fertile fic ground. But for some reason, there just was no community for it on LJ, and no interest in it anywhere else.

I was thinking of checking out the fandom as my reasoning was the same as in your second paragraph - it's really disappointing if there isn't one :/

Unfortunately that's been my experience, too. SO MUCH potential and yet a barren wasteland of fanfic.
